Tattoo FAQ

These Questions pertain to the tattoo shop.

tattoo

General Questions:

How do I book an appointment?

I book appointments or begin the process through a Google form that can be found here: https://forms.gle/oXfBF49b3ZK1niLd6

Once your form is submitted, I'll respond and we'll start discussing your design and get you an appointment scheduled.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No, as of now I do not being that I work out of a small studio. However, it's possible I may have last-minute openings that you can usually find posted on my Instagram story.

What is the difference between flash and custom tattoos?

My "flash" pieces are any pre-drawn design I have on this website or my Instagram page. A custom design would be drawn specifically for a client based on their requests and my design style.

How far in advance should I book?

This will be discussed once the artist reaches out to the client, recommended dates will be provided based on whether the piece is flash or custom and how long it may take to design.

Do you require a deposit to book an appointment?

Yes, the deposit will be collected after an appointment date has been agreed upon and is based off the size of the tattoo and the estimated time it will take to complete. The deposit goes towards the final cost.

Deposit Policy?

The deposit holds your appointment date and cannot be refunded if you cancel within a 24-hour window or no-show, but may be transferred if appt. date is moved. After two cancellations or no-shows a new deposit may be requested to re-book.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB and UnionPay Int.

Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp, Google Pay.

Before Your Appointment:

How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

  • Get a Good Night’s SleepBeing well-rested helps your body handle pain and sit for longer sessions.

  • Stay HydratedDrink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment—hydrated skin takes ink better.

  • Eat a Solid Meal Before You ComeLow blood sugar can make you feel faint or nauseous. A good meal 1–2 hours before is essential. Bring any snacks or anything you need to be comfortable.

  • Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Both can thin your blood and increase sensitivity. Try to avoid these for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Moisturize (but not the day of): Keep your skin healthy by moisturizing regularly in the days leading up, but skip lotion on the actual day.

  • Dress AppropriatelyWear comfortable clothes and something that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Black or dark clothing is ideal (ink stains happen!).

  • Bring Water & Snacks: Especially for longer sessions, keeping your energy up is important.

  • Avoid Sunburns or Cuts: Don’t come in with damaged skin. Sunburn, peeling, or fresh wounds will require rescheduling.

  • Be on Time (But Not Early)

  • Bring ID

  • You must be 18+ with valid government-issued photo ID.

  • Don’t Bring an Entourage: A support friend is okay but being that it's a small studio just check with the artist beforehand.

Can I bring a friend with me?

Being that the studio is a smaller space, it's preferred that you don't. If it's just one person, reach out to the artist before to see if it's okay.

Is there an age requirement for getting tattooed?

Yes, you must be 18 and provide a valid ID.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow access to the spot being tattooed and ideally prevent rubbing after the tattoo is complete.

Tattoo Process:

How long will my tattoo take?

It Depends on the tattoo, so please don't have any other plans the day of your appointment. If you have an ideal time to be finished on the day, discuss it with your artist. An estimated time will be given to you through email before the appointment.

Will you design a custom piece for me?

Yes, custom design requests can be filled out in the booking form. Custom designs will not be shown to you until the day before or day of to prevent the stealing of designs.

Can I make changes to a flash design?

Yes, I will make changes to flash designs upon request.

What is your policy on tattoo touch-ups?

Touch-up appointments are free, just contact your artist to schedule a follow-up at any time.

Aftercare:

How should I care for my new tattoo?

  • Leave Bandage on: If you're using a second skin wrap (like Saniderm), leave it on for 3–5 days unless it starts to peel or collect too much fluid.

  • First wash: recommended to remove wrap in the shower, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, mild soap (like Dove Unscented or Dial).

  • Use clean hands only—no washcloths or sponges.

  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Don’t rub.

  • Moisturize: Apply a very thin layer of unscented lotion or tattoo aftercare balm (like Aquaphor, Hustle Butter, or Lubriderm).

  • Do this 2–3 times daily until healed (typically 2–3 weeks).

  • Always wear sunscreen once tattoo is healed.

What products do you recommend for healing?

Griffin Claw Salve and Hustle Butter Blam are some of my favorites, however, you can use an unscented lotion or ointment such as Aquaphor or Vaseline if that's all you have available.

What should I avoid while my tattoo heals?

Do not soak your tattoo (no baths, hot tubs, or swimming) for at least 2 weeks.
No direct sun exposure—UV rays can damage a healing tattoo.
Don’t scratch or pick—let peeling or scabbing happen naturally.
Avoid tight clothing over the tattoo that could cause friction or trap moisture.

If the appointment is canceled within the 24-hour window of your appointment, your deposit cannot be refunded but it can be transferred to a rescheduled appointment. After 2 canceled appointments, a new deposit may be required to rebook. No-shows will not be refunded.

Do you do cover-ups or fix old tattoos?
