Hi, I'm Ryann — the artist behind Night Cat Tattoo. I started tattooing in Detroit, where I spent years drawing, painting, and building a foundation in visual storytelling. In 2023, I moved to New Mexico for the mountains and a change of scenery, and I’ve been inspired by the landscape ever since. My tattoo style blends realism with dot work and illustrative detail, and I love working with people to bring meaningful ideas to life. Artistic Vision
A lot of my tattoo designs and artwork are rooted in history. Whether it's drawn from folk tales, mythology, or moments tucked away in old history books. I love exploring the mystical and symbolic elements of the past and using them as inspiration to tell new stories through art. There's something magical about giving these old narratives a new life in a fresh, visual way.
Creative Process
My creative process is deeply tied to the quiet hours of the night — it’s when I feel most inspired and connected to my ideas. I love staying up late, reading, listening to stories, and letting my imagination run. Some pieces come together in a single night, while others take months of revisiting and evolving. When I hit a wall with a piece, I don’t force it. I let it breathe, trusting that the solution will reveal itself in time — and it always does, often when I least expect it. With each piece I sell I'll always make sure to include a little story of how it came to be, so you can know its story as intimately as I do, and maybe you'll feel like you were a part of the process too.
